Hoppers
The Side Feed and Rear Feed Hoppers have sides that are 42″ high with the exception of the 12″ rear panel on the 3-sided rear feed option. All sides are constructed of 3/16″ plate.
The 3-Sided Side Feed Hopper is designed for loading material from ground level by either hand or forklift and is available in either left or right side loading. See ANSI Ground Feed Installation guidelines.
The 4-sided Rear Feed Hopper is for dock loading applications and eliminates the need for an access gate, interlock switch, and the “hold to run, release to stop” button on Mark-Costello’s self-contained compactor/containers. Tread Plate with hand & toe rails may be required on some compactors.
The 3-Sided Rear Feed Hopper with Hinged Access Gate is designed for dock loading applications and is used with treadplate top cover and hand & toe rails to conform to O.S.H.A. and A.N.S.I. standards. Please confirm dock height with your Mark-Costello Regional Sales Manager before placing your order. The Hinged Access Gate along with the Access Interlock Switch is included in the rear feed hopper assembly. In addition, a Sustained Manual Pressure Control can be furnished with the packer.
Access Interlock Switch
The Access Interlock Switch is mounted on the security door frame or access gate through which refuse is fed into the packer. It prevents operation of the packer while the door or gate is open.
Treadplate Top Cover
The Treadplate Top Cover is secured to the top of the packer in lieu of the standard cover. The diamond pattern treadplate is available in either 700 lb. or 8000 lb. capacity. For the larger capacity plate, additional reinforcements are added for support and a third pair of legs is added to the packer.
The Expanded Metal Steps/Platform with Hand & Toe Rails for the VIP is used with rear or side feed 8 yd. Vert-I-Pack applications which conform to A.N.S.I. and O.S.H.A. requirements. The expanded metal steps maximize traction by allowing mud or snow to pass through the grating.
Hinged Breaker Bar Retainer Teeth
The Hinged Breaker Bar Retainer Teeth help prevent clutter in the charge box caused by “memory” and springback of some types of material such as corrugated. As the ram retracts, the teeth engage the material to keep it in the container. Teeth are hinged so that material can pass beneath them without undue stress on the breaker bar.
Container Guides
The Container Guide is constructed of two pieces of 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ angle with an overall length of 4′ 9 1/2″. It is designed for anchoring to the concrete pad and greatly facilitates alignment of the compactor to the packer.
15′ Container Guides are recommended for use with self-contained compactors.
Cart Dumpers
Mark-Costello’s Self-Contained and Stationary Compactors can be fitted with Ground Level or Dock Level Cart/Container Dumpers. The compactor mounted Container Dumper for 90 gallon containers (shown at left on an RJ-88SC) increases convenience and productivity. Container Dumpers can be configured to fit a variety of cart styles and applications.
This cart dumper is mounted to a stationary compactor for a ground feed application.
